This play revolves around Kah Wei, a 15-year old girld, who will be sitting for her GCE 'O' Level examinations next year. The play starts with Chinese New Year where Kah Wei's relatives' constant nagging and unwanted advise force her to seek refuge in he room. The scenes that follow reveal the different aspects of Kah Wei's character--her relationships, her childhood, her coming to grips with the roles she must play and the various expectations she faces.

As the play progresss, we may find ourselves as Kah Wei does, questioning the dos and don'ts, the whys and hows, of life. Or, we may find ourselves questioning Kah Wei.

The Lanterns Project is a 1-month programme in March and is part of the 1994 Young People's Theatre.

Julie is a play about a typical modern teenager trying to cope with the angst and pangs of her life. She slowly withdraws into herself, perhaps waiting for someone to lend her a support. However, as she soon finds out the answer to all her problems can only be found from deep within herself, as she confronts her deepest fears. 

This play seeks to explore teenagers' attitude of wanting immediate gratification, materialism, affluence and lack of personal identity leading them to join gangs, etc. Through this play, students will be shown reflections of themselves, and the possible causes of their behaviours and attitudes. Through self-parody & identification, it is hoped that students will then be encouraged to reflect on their own values and attitudes.

The dating game can be alluring, exciting and romantic for many teenagers. However, there are other issues that come with relationships, some of which do not cross the minds of impulsive teenagers, especially when it comes to sex. This play introduces to students the notion of trust in relationships with the opposite sex, and possible consequences when that trust is broken. It deals with the influence of peer pressure and the media and aims to encourage students to reflect on dating at their age and whether they are ready and prepared for what it really entails. 

Precinct is a semi-absurdist play about two people trying to cope with each other’s obsessive behaviours and also their own. Mark is obsessed with the idea of having a baby to call his own, because of the memories he has of his still-born sister whom he remembers as being buried “in a grave four feet wide, six feet deep”. Ellen is incessantly worried that a nuclear holocaust will soon happen, and wipe out all forms of life on earth. Their heightened fear of apocalypse leads them to question their identity, and hence their purpose of existence. 

Late Nights deal with the themes of change in the parent-child relationship and communication within the family.

This programme tells the story of three friends in school, enjoying all experiences of being young and independent, until one day when one of them decides to join a street gang. This Theatre-In-Education programme deals with gangsterism in schools. It touches on the relationship between the victim and the bully as well as bullying itself. This highly interactive programme builds self esteem and encourages students to express their opinions confidently and coherently. Schools will be presented with a teacher's resource pack suggesting activities related to the programme which can be use to reinforce learning points in the classroom.
