Simon Sharkey and his team at Cumbernauld Theatre are breaking new ground in Scotland schools, working with Drama, Dance, Multimedia, Animation, Make-up and Music as tools for tapping hidden potential and untapped intelligence even with the most disengaged youths.Arts For Life And Learning
Simon will share principles, strategies and techniques in his Educational work, and in particular, examples and ideas from the recent collaboration between Cumbernauld Theatre and The Necessary Stage - Fires Within Fires. In this project, students in Singapore and Scotland experienced a dynamic learning process, exploring life issues and utilising and developing multiple intelligences, through an exploration of the ideas and issues in Arthur Miller's text, The Crucible.
This will be a practical and participatory workshop, conducted with hands-on arts activities, discussions, and presentations from Simon.
