Contemporary social theatre is urgent in today’s increasingly borderless world. It is usually buttressed in the intra-cultural. But Singapore’s intra-cultural includes multiple cultural worlds and belief systems – a microcosm of Asia, especially when one includes the migrant workers as well. Creating theatre by drawing from fieldwork interviews has brought different cultural perspectives to TNS’s brand of contemporary social theatre.
