SYNOPSIS

Synopsis

A peaceful village, long ago, was besieged by deadly swordfish. The villagers were terrified of these fish and looked to their Rajah for a solution. But the Rajah had none. Then a young boy named Abdul came up with the idea of using banana tree trunks and saved the village from its plight. Instead of being rewarded, Abdul was arrested as the Rajah perceived a greater threat to his reign.

This programme offers students a chance to acquaint themselves with one of the more well-known local legends. Through role-playing, as farmers, fishermen, hunters and carpenters, they will interact with the main character of the story, Abdul. When he is accused of trying to take over the Rajah's throne, they will make decisions that will affect his fate.

Students will learn responsibility and empathy. This highly interactive programme builds self-esteem and encourages students to express their opinions confidently and coherently.
