CHOW: Vinod, they should count their lucky stars that someone like me is even taking them in, giving them an opportunity. Who else would do that? Who else would hire a person who is fine today and has a breakdown tomorrow? Huh? You tell me.

AH SENG: Want to resign also cannot resign. Five times already I resign. Nobody want already. Smelly already.

CHOW: My company has a reputation to maintain. We have won awards at WITS, we have BEST and WISE classes. Our rate of productivity is totally in alignment with the government's. These people are a risk factor. But I take them in because of the kindness of my heart.

AH SENG: Here good. Nobody disturb. Last time I work got people disturb. People know we all mental case. I think maybe I must carry pager or handphone. Then people won't think I mental case.

To send her to Thailand… she won’t be able to adapt. By obeying the laws of nature and of the state, we will play our part in creating social stability, harmony and security.
We can turn to the government for help and guidance from time to time. And as history has shown, the government, which has the best interests of its citizens, will always provide.

However, as individuals, we have to uphold our social and moral responsibilities. And if we are failing to do so, we have no choice but to change. We must change.

Maureen I used to think, when you get older, you can only look back. Think about the past and your regrets. People say, let's bring back the kampung spirit. What nonsense. If you want the kampung spirit, why you go and destroy all the kampung?

Dorothy: Last time, people didn't like to move house. Property had value, but not a price. We wanted to grow our roots... have families... memories... a connection to our community. Today, that is not a priority. We sell, we buy, we move. The rest... is nostalgia.

Mdm Lo: We may be old. But old doesn't mean we are all the same. Some may be healthy and fit—the role models of the aged. But some of us are sick. Some of us are not mobile. We can't speak even though we have a voice.

Saras: In life, we will always lose something—our home, our family... We experience loss all the time. But sometimes we will also find something. Something that keeps us going.
