The forum contains observations on community arts, public art and interactive initiatives from key practitioners and administrators in this field. Issues that were raised include: the histories of arts engagement in society in Singapore; discursive inheritances of contemporary "engaged art" practices; questions of art in education, in public art and in performance art; the relationships between independent arts projects and Peoples' Association Community Centres; and the role of the National Arts Council (NAC) and the Ministry of Education (MOE) in arts outreach programmes.
