Increasingly, our Youth are surrounded by sexual images, facts and distortions, news stories and sexual humour, as well as having ready to access to sexual information on the internet, not to mention chat rooms and chat lines where they can experiment with sexual interaction in the privacy of their home. But there is still little opportunity for them to make sense of it, even whilst trying to come to terms with their own physical, hormonal and emotional changes and identity.

Birds and Bees...Please? Acknowledges teenagers' interest, frustration, confusion and embarrassment over the subject of sex. It encourages students not to clamp up in shame and suppression over sexual matters, nor to let their hormones, their peers or the media dictate their choices, but rather actively and responsibly learn about sex without jumping into it impulsively.

A family is having a quiet dinner, discussing the relative MSG content of udon when a sudden announcement sends this catatonic bunch into a frenzy. Soon, we meet a group of crazies with fears, anxieties and obsessions that can put any talkshow to shame.

The movement theatre group, A.S.A.P, headed by Sim Pern Yiau, returns with an intriguing performance of kinetic bodies which react to their environment. The group's previous works have been described as "moving sculptures which are suggestive of jazz improvisation sessions". Basic Entomology explores the notion of human hunger in its various manifestations.

Be was written as part of the University of Birmingham's MA in Playwrighting Studies Programme. This earlier draft was staged as part of the Programme's Performance Weekend at the Allardyce Nicoll Studio in July 1995.

Blood Cages is a juxtaposition of two plots set in distinctly different times-- China in the late 19th century and present day Singapore. The characters in both plots find themselves constantly trapped by family and culture and societal standard. In the end, we recognise that this bondage.. to our environment, to others, and to our own beliefs, is not exclusive to us, but part of a cycle we cannot escape from.

Written in 1981, Borderline is concerned with a group of Pakistanis trying to make a home for themselves in London. Amina, who is at the heart of the story, has to contend with her traditional parents, her liberal friends and her indecisive boyfriend. Together with other characters -Ravi, who just arrived from India, Anil, his 'long-lost friend' and Susan, an English journalist- Hanif Kureishi has created a finely-crafted, humorous and powerful play.
